About ‘Vroom en Dreesman Haarlem’ by Erwin van Wijk
The most beautiful V&D branch is the one in Haarlem. The history of the robust structure began in 1927. At that time architect Jan Kuijt won a competition for which he and three other colleagues had been approached. The Amsterdam architect did well to win the competition and was commissioned to design seven more V&D stores.
