From far outside the city of Haarlem you can already see the Grote or St.-Bavokerk. The wooden, lead clad tower is 78 m high. This medieval Gothic cross church is one of the largest churches in the Netherlands. Unique in the interior are the beautiful wooden vaulted ceiling, the famous Müller organ, the copper choir screen, the many stained glass windows and the 400 tombstones on the floor, by, among others, Frans Hals and Willem Bilderdijk.
