In my drawing you look out on 'the Dinghuis' where the Supreme Court was once located. Nowadays you can find a tourist information office for relaxing, but once there were prison cells in the cellars, and later also elsewhere in the building. Even after the completion of the City Hall on the Market, the Dinghuis remained in use as a prison.
In recent years it has become more pleasant to be there. And during performances by Andrie Rieu you often see surprisingly talented "street ensembles" perform here.
Karen Nijst has lived in and near her beloved hometown of Maastricht for many years. She currently works as a web developer (Kahlo Websites in Hapert, Brabant) and is responsible for both programming and graphic design .
