The Eiger rises directly south-west of Grindelwald (district of Interlaken). The north face of the Eiger is one of the three great north faces of the Alps and perhaps the most famous north face in the world. It is almost 1,800 metres high. The north face of the Eiger is one of the most dangerous climbs in the world. More than 70 climbers have died here.
The Mönch is a 4,110 metre high mountain in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland. Together with the Eiger and the Jungfrau, it forms a striking group of three that can be seen from afar.
Kleine Scheidegg is the pass (2,061 metres above sea level) between the Eiger (3,967 metres above sea level) and the Lauberhorn (2,472 metres above sea level) in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland, which connects Grindelwald with Lauterbrunnen. Kleine Scheidegg is home to hotels, restaurants, ski lifts and the railway station for the Wengernalpbahn and Jungfraubahn cogwheel railways.
