This giant turtle is the only guest at the beach bar on Anse Severe (also known as Turtle Beach) on La Digue (Seychelles) around midday.

La Digue is home to around 50 wild specimens of giant tortoises. If you are travelling on the island, you will always come across a turtle on the road. These are Aldabra giant tortoises, which can easily live for 200 years or even longer.
Males can reach a length of 1.30 metres and weigh 250 kg. Females can reach a body length of just under 1.00 metres and weigh 167 kg.
