A powerful yet soothing view of a tropical coastline. This aerial photograph shows how the ocean relentlessly pounds against an impressive rock formation surrounded by white sand, steep cliffs and lush vegetation. The depth in the blue of the sea, combined with the texture of the rocks and the movement of the waves, create a particularly dynamic work that continues to captivate.

During a trip through Bali, I took this aerial photograph on a remote coastline. From above, I watched the sea break with full force on a lone rock, right on the border between beach and ocean. The contrast between the wild, foaming waves and the soft sand immediately caught my attention.

What I find so special about this place is how pure and untouched it feels. The colour of the water, the play of the surf, the steep cliffs and the greenery at the edge combine to create an image that is at once powerful and calming.
