While travelling through Shanghai one quiet morning, I walked into the impressive Jade Buddha Temple. The smell of incense, the gentle sound of prayers, and the serene atmosphere already impressed me. But what I found there touched me deeply in an unexpected way.
In a quiet corner of the temple, I met a Burmese monk, Sayadaw Ananda Thura. Clad in deep saffron yellow robes, with an attitude full of calmness and dignity, he exuded a form of inner peace rarely encountered. We exchanged no words only a small smile, a nod. Yet it felt like a complete soul-to-soul dialogue.
Before he walked on, I was able to take one picture. One image that captures this fleeting but powerful moment forever.
