For many of us, the day begins with this smell. In this picture, we see dark-roasted coffee beans lying in a metal bowl. In the background, slightly out of focus, is a classic wooden hand coffee grinder with a red crank as a colour accent. The focus is on the oily, shiny beans in the foreground - you can almost see the "crack" of the roasting.
My inspiration was the ritual of making coffee. In our fast-paced world, grinding coffee by hand is something meditative. I wanted to capture the tranquillity and the moment of pleasure before the hustle and bustle of the day begins. The dark, rich brown tones convey warmth, energy and a sense of security.
The picture should appeal to all the senses. When you look at it, you can literally smell the intense odour of roasting. It is an invitation to take five minutes for yourself.
In interior design, this is the classic for the "coffee corner" at home, for over the espresso machine or, of course, for cafés and bistros. It goes perfectly with dark wood or as a warm contrast in a white kitchen. An absolute must for every coffee lover ("Coffee Addict").
