About ‘The salty sea air as the sun sets’ by Sam Soesbergen

Pink clouds, blue sea and a setting sun. With ‘ 'Zilte zee lucht bij de ondergaande zon' ’, you bring the coast into your home. The wind on your face, the day turning into night. Lots of colour, movement, warmth. A real statement piece.

When I look at this piece, I can smell the sea, feel the wind on my skin and hear the waves rolling onto the beach. For a moment, I’m on holiday on Terschelling, on my way to the Heartbreak Hotel for a massive burger and a cocktail. The turbulence of the clouds brings peace to my mind. I can’t wait, but I’ll have to make do with this view for the coming months.

This is a digital painting, but entirely my own creation. With my magic pen, I select the lovely colours and apply countless brushstrokes (or pencil, pen, chalk – you name it) to my glass canvas.
