As I stood among the temple ruins of Hampi and looked over the landscape, it was very impressive to see these medieval structures in the landscape. There is little in the world to compare it to. As I stood there for a few minutes, a family suddenly emerged from behind some rocks from the more distant temple all dressed in red traditional clothes. The women moved elegantly dressed in those beautiful saris to the left and would come our way a moment later. But that first image made me think for a moment that I was back in the days when temples were more than the ancient ruins that they largely are now. That there were always processions between the temples of priests and priestesses worshipping their gods and making offerings at the altars. It was one of those moments you can only hope for as a photographer.
