The Westlands Museum is the place to learn about the history of the world's largest greenhouse area. A unique part of the museum is the historical garden. Between the fruit walls, greenhouses and barns, you imagine yourself a gardener in days gone by.
I enjoyed myself. Took many photos that are still among my favourites. It was a feast of recognition. My year of construction is somewhere in the second part of the last century. My father was a market gardener. I therefore clearly remembered much of what I saw at the Westlands Museum. The greenhouses. The different types of greenhouses. All familiar. Lovely atmosphere in and around the museum. Musing, thinking of days gone by. Clearing your head, it happens at the Westland Museum.
The old-fashioned grape greenhouse in the photo gives a good idea of how things used to be. The composition, the greenhouse hidden behind the pear tree, adds an extra dimension to the photo. I edited the original photo. It now exudes expressionism and has everything of an old-fashioned, or yet modern, colourful painting
Visiting the Westland Museum is definitely not a punishment. It is simply fun! And educational. And enjoyment...
