Letting go.
We all face it, letting go of something or someone, but it is perhaps one of the hardest things to do.
Because letting go can evoke sadness or anger. Or a feeling of helplessness.
Sometimes letting go is distancing yourself from wrong or negative feelings or thoughts, from chaos in your head.
But you also let go of people around you, for instance. A child that wants to stand on its own two feet. Someone you love who in some way is no longer going to be part of your life.
And sometimes we have to let go of a way of life. For instance, because we move house or we change jobs.
This artwork is about the art of letting go. The silhouette of this woman is letting go of something. Perhaps thoughts, feelings or something else bothering her. The second face shows complete chaos. A chaos of patterns, shapes and colours. Strange combinations in bright colours together. This chaos was created by merging a number of self-made photographs.
The chaos in the mind blows away among the hair blowing in the wind. The chaos fades away and is carried away by the wind and clouds. The picture of the clouds is also self-made.
