The Zugspitze mirrored in the Eibsee - On the shores of a sea of glass.
The photo was taken on an early morning in May during sunrise. I was staying close to Lake Eibsee at night and it had been raining, blowing and thundering all night, so I was actually seeing my chances of a beautiful sunrise decrease by the hour. Fortunately, around a quarter past four in the night, the clouds broke and the lake turned into a mirror-smooth surface.
So windless that Germany's highest mountain (2962 meters) reflected in the water surface.
I was lucky enough to be all alone, apart from the water birds, a deer that walked by a little further on and the trout swimming by. When the sun came up, I couldn't believe my joy. Something so beautiful never bores.
