The photo was taken on a misty, early morning in February at the Gertelsbach Falls in the Black Forest in southern Germany.
What fascinates me, besides the waterfalls of course, are the mossy branches, which can form at these waterfalls due to the shadow of the trees in summer and the watery microclimate.
The gray-blue light created by the mist makes you see the bright green branches from afar.
The bright green color makes them appear to give off light.
Although the landscape looks desolate, the new, upcoming spring can already be seen in the branch buds.
