The Shared Light of Rescued Hearts - Portrait of two Galgo's/Greyhounds

Two white Galgo's, found and abandoned in Spain, look at you with eyes full of memory and hope. This painting is a tribute to the quiet nobility of the Greyhound, to the animals that lost everything and yet learned to trust again.

In expressive, layered brushstrokes of white, sandy gold and deep wine red, two elegant silhouettes emerge, almost glowing from the canvas. The paint is applied with a rough, textured movement; vertical scratches and scraping marks give the work a tactile, almost sculptural texture, as if the canvas’s surface remains visible beneath the paint. Delicate lines of colour in pink and light blue dance across the background, infusing the work with energy and emotion.
The warm, amber-coloured eyes of the two dogs are the absolute focal point: piercing, gentle, watchful. They do not merely look; they recognise. The shared light in their gaze tells the story of two souls who are finally seen.
A work for those who know that beauty must sometimes be lost first.

This painting was born out of a deep admiration for the noble soul of the Greyhound breed, graceful, sensitive and resilient. A tribute to all the Galgos that were ever abandoned, and to the people who gave them a home.
