While visiting beautiful Sri Lanka, I lost my heart to the town of Passikudah, on the east coast of the island.
Besides the clear blue water and softly tinted sand, the primary colours of this photo, the water there is not deep. You can walk a long way into the sea while the water does not rise higher than your hips. This special water is a paradise for all kinds of fish and plants, and thus also for snorkellers.
In addition, Passikudah is also known as a fishing village. If you get up 'early in the morning, you can see the colourful boats coming in. The catch is sold on the spot to interested buyers. It is a jumble of colours, smells and people. Cosy, colourful and so typical of this beautiful country.
Those who have already visited Sri Lanka may find a nice souvenir in this photo. Others may dream away from the beautiful beaches of this tropical country.
