Some mornings feel like they belong to another time. This was one of them. A still, grey mist hung low over the Rapenburg canal in Leiden, softening every edge and turning the water into a perfect mirror. The reflections of the historic buildings are so sharp it’s hard to tell where the canal ends and the street begins. The boat resting in the bottom left adds a quiet anchor, and the bare trees lining both sides give the scene a delicate, almost skeletal frame. The whole image feels like it’s been paused — no people moving, no wind, just silence. The black-and-white treatment strips everything down to its essentials: form, structure, light. There’s a calm here that goes beyond the visual. It’s the kind of calm that slows your thoughts and makes you notice small things, like the way the rail curves or how the window frames align. It's a timeless kind of stillness that sticks with you.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
