The basalt cliffs off the coast of Madeira rise out of the sea like something out of a mythological legend.
The water of the sea appears calm and stretches like mist between the large boulders on the beach.
And there the mighty basalt cliffs rise out of the sea and tower into the pastel-coloured evening sky.
In the background, delicate clouds can be seen drifting past on the horizon.
It would come as no surprise if Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, emerged from the surface in the next moment.
It's a magical image for me, I can remember it very well.
Of course, the sea is not so calm, but the waves crash onto the beach, so that I was sometimes afraid they would wash me away. With the help of a grey filter, I was able to take a long exposure and create this ghostly impression.
For me it is also a symbol - a rock in the surf.
The rock in the surf that always keeps its calm and defies every storm.
Those who keep their calm and nerves also radiate calm to their surroundings, and sometimes calm the agitated mood.
