The Wadden Sea in a stormy wind 7 to 8, for me time to visit the beautiful Terschelling, the 3rd island in the Wadden Sea seen from Den Helder.
After a brisk bike ride and walk on a stormy beach, I reached my goal for the day, hoping for a beautiful sunset at this special place.
The Drenkelingenhuisje used to function as a means of rescue for seafarers who were shipwrecked on the coast of Terschelling (and there were quite a few of them). Nowadays it is a nice destination for a brisk walk along the North Sea beach.
At the moment I thought the beautiful sunset would pass me by, Mother Nature spoiled me with this beautiful landscape. The heavy dark rain clouds from which it had rained only half an hour before made way for a blue sky. Behind the well-lit clouds the sun slowly set with beautiful colors and I walked back to the inhabited world satisfied, defying the storm and the drifting sand. Terschelling more than fulfilled its promise as a UNESCO world heritage site!
