Looking for inspiration for my next veggie lady, I thought: After all the fruity ladies, it's time for a new vegetable. Since I like asparagus quite a lot, my choice was quickly made. Unfortunately, I soon discovered that asparagus is a rather boring vegetable because it is more or less thin and straight. But I was determined not to give up and see what I could do with it. So there was a lot of bunching, grouping, mirroring, scaling, also a bit of distortion and of course colour correction - until I finally had the result of a royal robe. If you look closely, you can clearly see that everything is made of asparagus parts (except for the woman and her hair, of course - because they are painted). I used a reference photo for the woman to get the highlights and shadows right. Her facial expression, however, comes from my imagination: a regal creature, a little arrogant, a little seductive, probably manipulative, proud and beautiful. A real royal highness. Actually too bad to end up on the wall of a kitchen - but why not in your dining room? And if you have a penchant for the royal anyway, I'm sure you'd love to see it in his/her living room. Speaking of reference photos: I'll be happy to paint your photo into one of my creations. You just choose your favourite vegetable - or fruit. In the end, it's up to you whether it will be made available to the general public or remain a unique piece forever. britta.glodde@gmail.com
