From the new cultural centre Stavros Niarchos, you have a great view of part of Athens harbour. In the foreground you can see Kallithea marina, centre-right the residential areas of Piraeus and in the background the mountains and hills of Salamis or Salamina island. The sun is setting there, and sunsets are not always easy to photograph. A sense of timing and the right technical settings are crucial here.
For instance, I found it important that the sun's rays were visible and that the sun would still reflect on the water. You can see half of the sun, which gives an interesting effect, and you can also find different shades of blue and orange in the sky. At the top of the photo, you can see the blue of the evening emerging, and this blends wonderfully with the orange of the setting sun.
My intention was to capture a dreamy and warm atmosphere.
