Sunset Glow - Abstract landscape by Ellis Hollering

'Sunset Glow' shows an abstract landscape in which sky and water merge. Deep purple tones, soft orange and a warm golden glow reflect each other, making the image almost seem to breathe. The horizon is only subtly present through the intense sky. Small, almost hidden details such as dark banks and fine reed-like accents give the work grip and invite you to look longer. The longer you look, the more layers and nuances reveal themselves.

This painting originated from my love of travelling and moments when time seems to stand still for a moment. For me, sunsets are one of the most beautiful moments of the day. They mark an end, but at the same time carry the promise of something new. Not one specific place was the focus, but a feeling I experience more often when I look at the horizon alone.

The work exudes warmth, calm and softness. For me, it is about slowing down, about letting go of the day and making space for silence and reflection.

The work is painted with acrylic in several transparent layers. I worked intuitively, guided by colour, movement and emotion, keeping some parts deliberately open and light.

'Sunset Glow' brings warmth and depth to a space. It suits people who love peace, travel, nature and moments of reflection, and works both as an eye-catcher and as a calm counterpart in a modern or warm interior.
