Echo of a Long Day - Expressive Mountain Landscape

by Ellis Hollering

The light slowly fades behind the mountains — this expressive abstract landscape captures precisely that moment when a long day breathes its last. The sky glows, the water reflects every hue, and for a moment the world seems to stand completely still. You feel the tranquillity and the melancholy at the same time.

In warm ochre gold, deep aubergine purple and soft peach pink, Ellis Hollering paints a dramatic mountain landscape with a vast, mirror-like expanse of water in the foreground. The dark blue-grey mountain silhouettes stand out powerfully against an explosive evening sky full of warm pink, golden yellow and off-white. Paths of light draw the eye diagonally from the foreground to the glowing centre between the mountain peaks. Drops of paint along the bottom edge and broad, full brushstrokes give the work a raw, expressive power rarely found in a landscape. The title ‘Echo of a Long Day’ perfectly captures that twilight mood: the feeling that a day leaves behind something words cannot capture.

This work is created for an interior that calls for depth and character. Above the sofa in a living room with dark accents, velvet cushions or brass details, the rich colour palette comes into its own. It also makes a striking statement on a large wall in a hallway or study. It fits perfectly with an eclectic, romantic or dark modern interior featuring wood, marble or warm metal.

Available as an ArtFrame, canvas painting and as a high-quality print in multiple sizes. A moving and personal gift for someone who loves powerful, atmospheric art that tells a story.
