About ‘Dunes and a rainbow near Domburg’ by Sander Poppe

During a winter walk along Domburg beach, the weather kept changing. Rain showers swept across the North Sea and dark clouds covered almost the entire sky. Between two low dunes, a view opened up towards the sea, where the rows of posts slowly faded into the horizon.

Whilst the rain still hung over the water, enough sunlight broke through behind me to reveal something special. A subtle rainbow appeared in the sky to the right. Not overly prominent, but just enough to bring colour to the coastal scene.

What appeals to me about this photograph is the combination of contrasts. The threatening sky and the rain showers suggest unease, whilst the marram grass, the dunes and the rainbow, on the other hand, add a sense of calm. This creates an image that looks powerful without becoming heavy.

With its natural colours, open horizon and the recognisable Zeeland coastal landscape, this photograph brings a sense of tranquillity and space to any setting. The image looks equally stunning at home, in an office or in a reception area, thanks to the combination of nature, light and atmosphere.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
