The whole shows transience and vulnerability and at the same time timelessness.
The choice of colour, the greenish hues that seem to merge, makes the vase and roses more or less form a whole. The pink rose gives the contrast the picture needs.
The wood under the vase/jar and flowers, with the roses, stems and leaves of the roses, gives a natural, organic image. With the stone jar/vase as a contrast.
Also through the reflection of the light in front of the vase/jar a contrast with the natural material of the roses and wood.
