Still Life Of Peonies, Geraniums, Daffodils And Ovuli On A Stone Ledge, Italian School (1700)
This Italian still life depicts a bunch of flowers in the background and a handful of freshly picked ovuli, a type of mushroom common in Southern Italy, in the foreground. This combination was quite usual in Italian still lifes during 17th century, and both groups are executed with naturalistic interest and attention to detail.
