What would you do if suddenly a little bird came into your life that didn't want to go to its own house?
This illustration of a sparrow in a matchbox is from my (yet to be released) picture book 'Minke and Sparrow'. In which Minke suddenly has a curious new friend. At the end of the day sparrow is allowed to stay with Minke in his own bed. And with a candle because he is afraid of the dark.
Although originally not intended that way, some people sometimes see a dead sparrow in it. The print is therefore also very suitable as a sweet condolence gesture.
