Tanja ten Wolde makes illustrations and digital art (in which photos and illustrations mix beautifully). Prints for children (and even a real kids art line) but certainly also for adults.
Before Tanja unleashed the illustrator in herself, she had her own criminal law practice as a lawyer. The fascination for people (and their underlying story) stems from that time and is still the biggest inspiration for her work as an illustrator. Tanja lives and works in Huissen. By using different techniques and materials, it immediately becomes clear that an illustration does not always have to be a drawing. She never really sketches. She just starts and sees where the imagination takes her. Her hunger for trying out different styles, lines and products is still evident in her current work. This ranges from colorful expressive prints for children's books and a series of remarkable portraits of people and animals to more abstract (collage) works of art. Colorful compositions in which there seems to be no room for (correct) proportions and perspective. A tad strange but tasty! Her work focuses on people in all kinds of shapes and situations, even when they are (just) animals.
Because the final product is usually digital, her prints are available as fine art (giclee) prints.
