Something else, Eyes of the Unknown – Surrealist Fantasy Portrait

by Hilde Remerie – Digital Art, Bauhaus & Photography

An intriguing surrealist portrait of a creature that seems to exist somewhere between human, animal and fantasy. Three large, expressive eyes immediately catch the eye and give the image a remarkable, almost otherworldly air. The asymmetrical head, the long nose, the closed mouth and the flowing brushstrokes make this fantasy portrait at once strange, vulnerable and fascinating.

The image deliberately balances between recognition, alienation, humour and a slight sense of unease.
The face appears to be built up from layers of paint that have been visibly applied on top of one another. Loose brushstrokes, soft transitions and dark accents give the portrait a tactile, almost painterly texture. A strong contrast emerges around the eyes, causing the gaze of the fictional character to follow you, as it were. The dripping paint at the bottom reinforces the sense that the image is still in motion and not quite fixed.

This modern artwork is created for anyone who loves surrealist art, mysterious figures and original wall art with a character of its own. It is not a traditional portrait, but an invitation to come up with your own story. Is this a creature from an unknown world, a dream image or a character from a story yet to be told?

Thanks to its calm composition and vertical shape, this imaginative portrait can serve as a striking focal point in a modern, eclectic or creative interior. Hang it as a statement piece in the living room, bedroom, study or creative space and let visitors discover time and again what they recognise in this extraordinary gaze.

A unique work of art for lovers of surrealist portraits, digital art and mysterious fantasy worlds.
