About ‘Sleeping tawny owl’ by Jasper Kok
Photographing a tawny owl had long been on my to-do list. After I knew a roosting location of the tawny owl, it was mainly a matter of choosing the right moment.
The fresh green leaves of the newly sprouting beech make for a fresh image. Furthermore, the morning light shining through the leaves makes for a cheerful image.

My name is Jasper Kok, I am 18 years old and have been passionate about nature photography since I was 11 years old. What started as a simple curiosity about the nature around me soon grew into a real passion.
From a young age, I spent countless hours outdoors, armed with my camera and a large dose of patience. My preference is birds: their behaviour, their singing, everything about these animals fascinates me.
For me, nature photography is not just about…
