About ‘Shifting dunes’ by Hans Lok

It could hardly be simpler. Sand, air, a wisp of cloud. The brightness of a sunny day that makes the dune sand glow even more. An image that brings a sense of calm and, even though there’s no water in sight, gives the feeling that the sea and the beach must be close by. This immediately evokes that cheerful holiday feeling. But actually, there is a completely different feeling behind it, because the sand is not static. Every gust of wind lifts the tiny grains of sand and deposits them a little further on. The massive mound is constantly in motion and slowly but surely buries everything in its path. The speed is dictated by the wind. Today, the clouds drift gently across the almost cloudless sky, but on other days a storm can sweep across the dunes, shifting tonnes of sand.

Most photographs are created intuitively. It is an image that strikes me, usually a combination of form and color in which a part of reality is framed into an image. The result is a fitting form.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
