This work and title stem from prejudices and comments that artist ElineMoos faces on a daily basis. ElineMoos is a woman, a teacher, a mother and has different hair colours, tattoos and a distinct style of dress in the process. Before the conversation can turn to small talk, external features have to be ticked off. Her appearance and/or gender is also a reason for some to assume she will not know or be able to do something. This has never stopped her before and will not stop the lady in the portrait either. Stay yourself, stay proud, stay full of yourself.
The portrait is based on a portrait of a man with a headband and wild and tousled hair; ElineMoos has turned this into her own typical hairstyle, full of lines, curls and waves. The geometric background is typical of ElineMoos' work from 2018-2020, before she started working with watercolour.
The work was made with fineliner and markers in 2018.
