Landscape with lots of birds, flowers, butterflies and Rufus the cat.
I drew this landscape in summer 2023, so hence all those sunny colours.
This is also what they call a "concrete figurative" landscape, i.e. everything is recognisable but in the real world you won't easily come across it like this. As a maker, this allows you to let go of the often drab world a little to make everything more to your own liking.
At first, there was no cat in it, and frankly, I almost threw this work in the digital trash. Until, in a final attempt to make something out of it after all, Rufus popped up. As if from nowhere, it seems. And the great thing is that the little birds in this image don't seem to mind at all that Rufus joined them.
Then I got back to having fun, and this is the result!
