A little way away from the crowds. Walking to the lighthouse, a bit away from the mountain Valahnukur, you will find a rocky beach with a view on the striking cliff, Karl. A bird cliff over 50 metres high on which herring gulls, fulmars, kittiwakes and ravens nest. The golden wall is hidden from view for most people, because from the parking lot most people marvel at the beautiful view, and then quickly seek the warmth of the car again. The peninsula Reykjanesta, is on page 4 of my book "Icelandic Pearls". Look at OdeaanIJsland.nl for more information about the book.
