We’re celebrating 80 years of Schleswig-Holstein,
Golden times, even when'it gets stormy:

I painted this picture after a regatta when the sky suddenly clouded over. It grew dark, then rain and storm lashed us in the sudden darkness. Shortly afterwards, the sun came out again and we dried off in the warmth.

A perfectly ordinary summer’s day off the coast of Schleswig-Holstein, whilst in the foreground the golden wheat ripens.
