About the artwork

This aerial photograph captures the flooded landscape of the Millingerwaard, a nature reserve along the River Waal in Gelderland, the Netherlands. From above, the scene looks abstract: trees appear as floating shapes, their branches blending with the deep blue reflections of the sky. The still water mirrors clouds and light, erasing the boundary between air and land. The Millingerwaard is part of the Gelderse Poort, a rewilded river landscape where former farmland has been transformed into wetlands and riparian forest. During the winter months, high water levels flood the area, creating a temporary mosaic of islands, pools, and trees standing in the current. I was drawn to this moment of calm and balance — where nature takes back space, and the forces of water and vegetation create new patterns. The photograph reveals the quiet rhythm of the Dutch river delta, a place that changes with every season but always carries a sense of continuity and renewal.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
