Every year when the poppies bloom, I am so overwhelmed by their beauty and delicacy that I had to paint them. I have placed a single flower on the canvas like a macro shot. It protrudes from the top, left and right of the picture to create more tension. This blossom was applied with a brush in patches and thickly. Due to the many colours, which nevertheless fit together, the picture looks very harmonious and not too colourful. Part of the stem can be seen at the bottom of the picture.
