About ‘Paracelsus House – A piece of Esslingen’ by Jürgen Haug

Description The Paracelsus House is one of those buildings in Esslingen that you cannot simply walk past. It stands there, self-assured and calm, as if it had always been part of your field of vision. For many, it is a familiar sight – for me, it is a piece of home. The richly decorated half-timbered façade, the striking bay window and the warm colours tell of craftsmanship and a time when buildings were still constructed with patience and high standards. Despite its wealth of detail, the house does not appear loud, but rather balanced and naturally anchored in the cityscape. This photograph deliberately focuses on the essentials: the architecture, its proportions and its charisma. Without modern distractions, without haste. A view of Esslingen as it feels to me – familiar, mature and full of character.
