About ‘On the side of the lake’ by Mark Leek

Photo taken from the terrace of Brasserie Het Park on the Hoornse Hop during the first Lakeside Stories - a singersongwriter gathering held there every first Sunday of the month - of 2013.
The Lakeside Stories have been active again since September 2011 and part of the success of these gatherings lies in the great place waat they are held. Hoorn's theatre stands outside the dike on the edge of the Hoornse Hop. A beautiful bay in the Markermeer. From the brasserie's terrace you have a wonderful view over the water. The work of art - beautifully lit at night - the star flats in the background and the windmills in the distance offer a beautiful vista. The sun regularly sets beautifully there. I made this panorama from 9 photos that I stitched together in Photoshop.

Mijn naam is Mark Leek. Ik ben in 1968 geboren in Blokker. Van beroep ben ik adjunct-directeur van een speciale basisschool in Hoorn. Daarnaast ben ik voor D66 gemeenteraadslid in Hoorn. In mijn vrije besteed ik graag veel tijd aan fotograferen.

Via een klein Agfaatje, een Pentax spiegelrefles, een Canon spiegelreflex en verschillende kleine digitale cameraatjes kocht ik een digitale spiegelreflex. Een Nikon D70s. Een korte cursus bij Fotogram in Amsterdam was de…

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
