About ‘Nepali women’ by Charlotte Bakker

Walking through the small streets of Bakthapur, a small vista catches my eye. Here a number of women sit idly weaving wool. The orange colour of the wool is central to happiness and strength here. The orange rhododendrons colour the land and the people.

The picture gives you a glimpse into the daily life of Nepali people, which for me is a reminder of 'slow living'. Handicrafts, which you do with company and without hurry. The wool comes from local animals, goats, sheep and yaks and is also coloured with natural sources, like those cheerfully coloured flowers. And the handicrafts are sold to tourists in the small boutiques. Everything is made locally and sustainably!

Nepal is a country with many kind and patient people. The mountains take centre stage here, both for the locals and the many travellers who attempt to climb them. Bakthapur is a short motorbike ride from the capital Katmandu and is like a beautiful open-air museum to walk through!

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
