About ‘Museum Hofwijck in Voorburg’ by Barbara Koppe

Dit prachtige gebouw staat op de buitenplaats Hofwijck, langs de Vliet in Voorburg. Constatijn Huygens, de Nederlandse dichter, diplomaat, geleerde, componist en architect, bouwde dit huis in 1642 als plek waar hij zich soms kon terugtrekken. Inmiddels is de tuin die bij het huis hoort niet meer in takt zoals ooit bedoeld was. Het huis is nu een museum, de eerste verdieping kan ook gebruikt worden als trouwlocatie. Museum Hofwijck is één van die mooie en bijzondere plekjes in het pittoreske Voorburg.
