The island of Mont Saint Michel off the coast of Normandy in France.
It was a day of changeable weather, sunshine and threatening skies in May 2024.
This island had been on my to-do list for some time, and this day was actually photographically perfect.
No harsh sun rays but beautiful light shining on the abbey.
The abbey itself was beautiful, lots of great photos taken inside, but the island itself is very touristy.
Lots of shops with all the same figurines and other "junk"
So fortunately the abbey made up for a lot, lots of stairs were part of that.
Originally accessible only at low tide, today there is a bridge from the mainland to the island.
There is even a shuttle bus running from the main car park, walking is quite manageable in 15 to 20 minutes.
In short, I'm glad I saw it with my own eyes and got some nice photos from it, always very nice for a photographer.
My great passion is portrait photography, especially children and the elderly,
but especially in Fine Art photography, I can lose myself completely.
