About "Mills of Kinderdijk just after a rainstorm"

About the artwork

A nice view across the water to the windmills at Kinderdijk.
All this just after a rainstorm, with the beautiful contrasting light making the mills stand out beautifully against a dark rainy cloud cover.
The reflection of the clouds and the mills in the water makes this photo a picturesque scene you want to keep looking at for a long time.

This photo shows 2 of the 19 mills located along the high boezem of the Overwaard in Alblasserwaard near the village of Kinderdijk. These mills used to be used by the Water Boards to keep the water level in the polders. Something the Netherlands is known for in the rest of the world.
Using a wind-driven paddlewheel, these reed-covered boezemills of the Overwaard grind the excess water from the Overwaard up one last step before discharging it into the river, after which it is further drained towards the sea.
Because of the sails that are about 15 metres long and reach almost to the ground, these mills are also called ground sailors.
All Kinderdijk mills are included in the Unesco World Heritage List and are kept in good repair due to their great historical value.
A visit to this beautiful part of the Netherlands is definitely recommended.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
