The brilliant colours in the sky are caused by high humidity combined with Sahara sand, which passed high in the atmosphere over the Netherlands this morning. The windless conditions mean the water is almost wrinkle-free, and 'the horse' reflects beautifully in the surface.
The introductory line from the waterline diagonally down the left bottom to the top lead the eye quietly to the main subject in this photo. The result was a few wet feet, as the water flowed just over the edge of my boots
