I took this photo in the woods near my home, I saw the colours of these mushrooms clustered together on a tree trunk and thought, how am I going to photograph this?
The beauty of photography of stationary objects is that you have all the time in the world to figure out the right composition. I looked from all angles at how best to get these purple mushrooms in the photo, eventually I looked straight from top to bottom and got this bleed after some more zooming in and out!
The crazy thing about this image is that it radiates autumn but at the same time the colours make you think a bit of spring. The image did cheer me up when I made it. Once at home at the computer to edit the image, it came to life by emphasising the colours even more. With this as a result...
I really love macro photography, being able to zoom in on the small world below or above us is so fascinating. The things you get to see then, so beautiful!
