Huis Loenersloot on Nieuwegracht 20 in Utrecht The oldest part of Huis Loenersloot consists of a main building built in 1517 or shortly after. This part has a stepped gable on the street side and it runs deep to the rear. At right angles to the main building, a lower wing was built within a few years that has a moulded gable and a gothic gate on the street side. Both parts have gabled roofs and two storeys. Huis Loenersloot is partly covered by cellars, with wharf cellars on the canal side dating from an earlier period. The listed building has gradually had various users/owners, including prominent people and Jesuits who had a secret church there. It has also been modified several times. In more recent history, Huis Loenersloot functioned as an Archbishop's Museum and as a school. The house name is derived from former owner Jacob van Amstel van Mijnden who was lord of Loenersloot.
