The Bruntskameren is a complex of fifteen one-room houses. They were commissioned by the lawyer Frederik Brunt and built on the yard of his house Klein Lepelenburg in 1621 for the benefit of poor widows, who received food and fuel in addition to free housing. The main building became reception rooms for his heirs and contains a baroque carved gateway. The cottages were first part of Lepelenburg but later the streets were named Bruntenhof and Bruntensteeg.
