About ‘Loch Chon - an autumn view’ by Ben De Winter

This picture offers an enchanting image of a peaceful autumn afternoon on the shores of Loch Chon, an idyllic lake in the Scottish Highlands. Nature shows itself in its full splendour here, with trees cloaked in a rich palette of autumn colours, ranging from soft gold tones to deep shades of orange-red. The leaves almost seem to light up against the dark background of the dense coniferous forest, which provides an impressive contrast to the warm hues of the trees in the foreground.

The waters of Loch Chon lie calm and undisturbed, like a natural mirror that doubly captures the beauty of the landscape. The reflections of the trees in the lake create a perfectly symmetrical image, giving the scene an almost ethereal quality. The shore is covered with low bushes and reeds, which subtly add to the texture of the landscape without distracting from the overwhelming harmony.
