This painting is a part of my ongoing series of landscapes, and botanicals. It was inspired by the beauty that can be found in little things.
I view this piece of botanical painting the same as the regular landscapes, just magnified.
The aim of this painting is to put emphasis on those little things we pass by daily without noticing. To glorify them.
This artwork was painted in oil on canvas, a technique I most usually work in. Its style is somewhat unusual, as it consists of a large abstract expressionist part and a smaller part of the painting painted in a very realistic way. The idea is to juxtapose abstract expressionism and figuration in the same painting, much like we see nature surrounded by urbanized spaces.
I hope this painting will inspire you to take notice of these little passing gems and enjoy them.
