Landscape painting - Great Plans belongs to my ongoing series of landscapes that deal with the climate changes and ecological crises.
Unlike most paintings in this series, "Great Plans" is a little different because it is somewhat abstract, or semi-abstract.
When observed from the distance this canvas appears to be very minimalistic, but when you take a closer look, you can see it is full of details. I started painting by doing an underdrawing with pencil on canvas, before putting any paint on it. After the pencil, many layers of paint followed, creating a soft look. On top of it I applied drawing-like features with oil paint. It consists mainly of geometrical elements but also from symbols derived from cartography, symbols for oil and coal.
The idea behind this painting is to motivate people to think about the landscape and nature in a different way
